F1 has expressed its sincere condolences to the family of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in light of her passing.
Buckingham Palace announced the Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon just after 6.30 p.m. UK time. She governed for 70 years and was 96 years old.
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali responded by issuing the following statement: “Formula 1 mourns the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. For more than seven decades she dedicated her life to public service with dignity and devotion and inspired so many around the world. Formula 1 sends its deepest condolences to the Royal Family and to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.”
According to reports, F1, the teams, and the drivers will observe a moment of silence prior to Friday’s opening practice session for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. The teams also shared their sorrow through social media.
