Takaaki Nakagami will miss yet another event as he will not compete in the Australian MotoGP while he continues to recuperate from a terrible finger injury.

Tetsuta Nagashima, who also filled in for him in Thailand, will take over for the LCR Honda rider this time round in Australia.

Tetsuta Nagashima, who also filled in for him in Thailand, will take over for the LCR Honda rider this time. In order to repair a damaged tendon in his finger, Nakagami underwent surgery following his home race in the Japanese MotoGP and he underwent two operations to fix it.

He sustained the injury during the Aragon MotoGP a week prior, but he competed in Japan despite missing the previous two races.

Nagashima placed 22nd overall in Thailand and the 2022 MotoGP standings, Nakagami is in 18th place.
