Daniel Ricciardo makes relationship with Ex-F1 star's daughter official

McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo has scored easily away from the sport despite his struggles for points on the track after making his relationship with the daughter of former Formula One star Gerhard Berger official.

The gorgeous daughter of former Formula One champion Gerhard Berger, Heidi Berger, was the subject of Daniel Ricciardo’s “formal” engagement last weekend.

When they were seen hanging out together last year, Ricciardo and Heidi brought speculation that the two might be an item. The McLaren driver has since made their relationship public by posting a number of pictures of Heidi on a trip to the United States on Instagram.

The Australian star and Heidi, 25, are seen in one of the pictures relaxing in front of Los Angeles’ famous Hollywood sign as another picture depicts the couple hanging out with their buddies.

However, the image of Ricciardo giving the blonde beauty a thumbs-up while she poses in front of a waterfall wearing a tight pair of shorts and an oversized top may be the most telling one.

Without a doubt, the well-liked 33-year-old’s photos today were a huge hit on social media, especially with some of his friends who were thrilled that the pair is now “official.”

Some of the fans reacted to the snaps, one said, “First real post with Heidi.” Another said: “She’s official!” While a third person wrote: “I’m glad you’re happy Daniel, we’re with you all the way!”

Last year was the first time Ricciardo and Heidi were seen together. Additionally, they were seen together in a video taken from a helicopter at St. Tropez, on the French Riviera, in June 2021.

Heidi, a student at New York University, is the daughter of former McLaren and Ferrari ace Gerhard Berger, so Ricciardo should have much to speak about with her. Between 1984 and 1997, the Austrian competed in 14 seasons of racing, twice placing third in the drivers’ standings, matching Ricciardo’s best seasons while at Red Bull.

Berger, on the other hand, concluded his F1 career with ten race victories, two more than Ricciardo has to his credit at the moment. The veteran’s lovely daughter has previously been seen at one or two Grand Prix weekends, most notably at the Miami Grand Prix in May.

Her Instagram is a mixture of beautiful selfies and vacation photos, with the latter suggesting a passion for surfing. That ought to go over really well with Ricciardo, who, as an Australian, has a natural affinity for the surf and has previously been seen on a board.

The McLaren driver is presently taking advantage of his remaining vacation time before the F1 season resumes this weekend in Belgium.

During the summer break, Ricciardo spoke with Speedcafe.com on how he stays motivated during trying times, amid rumors that he would not be retained by the Woking-based team for the upcoming season.

“There’s certainly a few things… Like, the competition… it has to be one of the only sports in the world where there’s only 20 people that are doing it,” the Aussie said.

“The competition is such like a small, 0.001 per cent of a group. So to be able to not only be part of that group, but to compete inside that group, that’s such a unique thing in itself. And so I love that.”
