Haas is in good talks with possible partners, including a potential new title sponsor, according to team boss Guenther Steiner.

Since severing ways with Uralkali and driver Nikita Mazepin during the preseason due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Haas has competed without a title sponsor this season.

Team boss Steiner said in a statement to GPFans that Haas is “recovering” financially from this split and added, that Haas will get out better since the team is scoring points.

Steiner also responded when asked about the ripple effect of F1’s growing popularity with Haas’ improved standing in the constructors’ standings, and how this is boosting interest in the team.

“Oh, there are quite a lot of people at the moment,” Steiner said. “Honestly, I mean, what is a queue?”

“A queue is three people but I mean, you don’t have that many companies that pay you this amount of money, but we have had very good talks and it is progressing very well.”

“Hopefully, if everything goes well in the next month or two, we can announce something… Hopefully, a title sponsor as well, but that is not for sure.”

Following the removal of the Uralkali blue and red, Haas raced in a simple white livery during preseason testing in Spain.

Kevin Magnussen’s return was announced in time for the second preseason tests in Bahrain, after which the decision was made to end the team’s contract with the Mazepins.

“We are negotiating, but as you say, there is good interest in it,” the Haas team boss reflected on the beginning of 2022 season. “In the beginning, the good interest was people wanting to a cheap ride, because they thought we were struggling and all that stuff, that didn’t work.”

“People see what we are doing. We got kicked in our nuts basically, but we are still up and standing and going strong. People believe in that.”

“They know that we can do better than what we are doing now.”
