After making a strong impression on the team in 2022, Alex Albon secured a new long-term contract with Williams, giving him and his professional golfer girlfriend reason to celebrate.
F1 talent Alex Albon, who will stay with Williams for the 2023 season, is doing well both on and off the track.
Albon was a promising young driver as he progressed through the Red Bull organization, first with AlphaTauri before moving up to the main squad as Pierre Gasly’s replacement.
The 26-year old like Gasly, was outperformed by teammate Max Verstappen in 2020 and eventually lost his drive, and did not compete in 2021 despite continuing to be a Red test and reserve driver.
Following George Russell’s departure for Mercedes, the British-born Thai driver impressed with backmarkers Williams over the first half of this season. He currently holds points for all three of Williams’ constructors’ championship races.
Additionally, Albon’s romantic life appears to be flourishing. Since 2019, the 26-year-old has been dating Chinese LPGA Tour professional Lily Muni.
The two allegedly connected on social media. Muni started following numerous F1 drivers, including Albon, after watching the popular Netflix series Drive to Survive. The two met in person in Los Angeles at the same time that Albon was reportedly becoming more interested in golf.
Muni, who was born in Chengdu, Sichuan, moved to Canada’s Vancover before arriving in San Diego, California. When she was five years old, her father introduced her to golf. At the age of 19, she graduated from the University of Southern California and immediately turned pro.
